This card is cased from someone...I think maybe Julie from Paper Pleasing Ideas. Anyway, we are making it at a workshop today. It uses the set Inspired by Nature. I stamped the grass in Old Olive and the sun is made from a 1" circle mask with Summer Sun pastel. The butterfly is from Flight of the Butterfly. I stamped it in Pumpkin Pie and cut it out. It is adhered with a glue dot. The ribbon is also Pumpkin Pie and I used a rhinestone brad from the "fire" collection. The white layer is 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 and the orange layer is 2 3/4 by 3 3/4. Simple but pretty.

First Workshop Card

I held my first workshop in my new studio last weekend and this is one of the cards we made. It was a big hit with everyone. They chose their own designer series paper and made a version of this card. They all turned out fantastic! Cut 12 - 1 1/4" squares out of the DSP of your choice. Flip half the squares over and glue onto some scrap paper (copy paper) that is 3 3/4 by 4 3/4. Line it up so it is centered on the Top Note die for the Big Shot and run it thru. It's that easy!

New Studio

This is where I keep my stamps now...we no longer need it in our room so this was the perfect place.

This is my stamping space...and my new catty!

I got this great file holder at Costco. Works great for all my 81/2x11 cardstock. There are also shelves and drawers below.

The cutting and Big Shot station. I think I am going to set up another table to separate them. Not quite enough room. This also holds my scrap bins. I have 5: oranges/yellows/browns, blues/purples, reds/pinks, greens, and neutrals.

I uses these Ikea shelves/dressers for all my ribbons and other accessories. The drawers are full of alterable items, extra snails, glue, etc., bags, tissue paper, etc, etc. The drawers on the right are for my punches.

The room is about 25 feet long. I have room for up to 16 stampers. There are 3 lights and plug ins on each side of the room plus pot lights in the ceiling. There are no windows in this room which I like because I never have to worry about colours fading when I leave projects or paper out.

Settling In

We are settling in to our new home and loving the acreage life. Had to share a couple pics of the house all finished and one of the beautiful sunsets we had the other night. I will upload some of the studio as soon as I getting looking somewhat acceptable! I am going to be working on some teacher gifts over the next few days and will be sure to share them. I have just had so much to do with the house and the weather has been so beautiful that I just have not used my new studio much. But, that is going to change right away! I also have some awesome news about our other house. While we have not found a buyer we do have a renter! She is a friend (and fellow stamper!) and we are so excited to have her and her kids living in our home. Phew! What a relief!

New Catty Arrived!

Yahoo! My new Stampin' Up! catalogue just arrived! I have been so busy that I was not quite as eager to get it this time as I have been in the past. There are some really cute new stamp sets including one with a kangaroo and a new baby one with a cute little teddy bear and train. But it's the other stuff that I LOVE. There are some really cute birthday party kits - a princess one for girls and a pirate one for boys! There is also FINALLY a Canadian set! It's not as cute as I would like, but it's a start. There is also a new butterfly punch and some cute scrapbook kits. They also have some new wedding goodies and some file folders and other organizational things that coordinate with designer series paper. All around a really nice catalogue. Along with my catty was all my new arrivals - my sneak peak purchases...new in colour pads, paper, and IN COLOUR MARKERS! Plus a couple new hostess sets that are super cute. Woohoo! I think I am going to have to find some time tonight to play!

First Projects

Woohoo! I stamped in my new studio. I should have taken some pics before I started to make a mess! It still needs a little work but it's functional. I will take some pics soon.
I made a birthday card for my sister in law using this super cute owl set. I used my Big Shot to make the textured background. I just folded the card around the plate so only the top half got textured. The very top didn't really get done but the ribbon hides that! The branch was stamped and cut out as well as the leaves, owl and hat. The owl and hat are on dimensionals. Colours are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red. Turned out pretty cute. The little boxes were also made using the Big Shot and are just little treats for the kids to take to their teachers tomorrow. I have not done many treats for them throughout the year as I have been so busy so I thought I would start sending a few during these last days of school. Now I need to figure out what to do for the end of the year gifts.

We're In!

We are finally in our new house! It is so amazing; I can't get over how great it feels to be here. Here are a couple of sneak peaks at the new stamping studio. There are now boxes all over the place and so much to do but I hope to get working on it this weekend. Each "station" has its own light with switch and plug in. It's gonna be awesome!

Packing Up

Wow, it has been forever since I stamped and even longer since I posted! We move in 2 weeks and I am slowly packing everything up. This week it has been my stamping supplies. I was going to leave them out for a bit and then wondered why. Not like I have time to stamp! Packing up has has made me realize how much freakin' stamping stuff I have! :) Anyway, the house is looking amazing and I can hardly wait to move on in! I posted a few pics so you can see how it's looking. The stone went up a week or so ago and looks fabulous. The flooring is going to be done tomorrow. Only 16 sleeps til moving day! I will (try to) post some pics of my new stamping studio once we get the counters and lights in next week.

Still here!

It has been so long since I stamped! I made this one a month or so ago. Uses the star punches and silver cardstock. The base is Bashful Blue and the dark blue is Not Quite Navy. Thought this could work for a guy or an older kid's birthday. I hope to stamp again soon. Like maybe tomorrow...
