Sunny Scrapping

I did these 2 pages awhile back. I cased the first one from the SU catalogue. I love how it turned out. Pics are from our trip to Disneyland in the fall of 2007. Since I have no time to stamp or scrap I will just continue to share some of my older work. I don't see any time in the near future as I am super busy with work this week, then the cheer competition on Saturday and then my hubby and I are off to Puerto Rico on Sunday. Woohoo! Partly business for him, all pleasure for me!

Priceless

I made this card quite some time ago (before my blogging days). I think it may be in my slide show but I'm sure it's not on here anywhere else so I thought I would feature it today since a) I have nothing newly made to show and b) I want to post something. This was made using the Priceless set. The colours are Soft Sky and Regal Rose. There are several layers which take some time to cut, along with cutting out the butterfly, but in the end it's worth it! The butterfly is stamped on the white layer in Regal Rose and then just the wings were cut out of another piece and stuck on. This gives it a neat look and eliminates the need to cut out the antennae.

Cheers!

Today was my cheer team's last practice before our first competition. Yikes! The kids were so wired...it was hard to keep them under control. (They are 6-8 years old!) Hopefully they will be relaxed next week and everything will go according to plan. I made this card tonight and it was inspired by our uniforms! Not sure what I will do with this card yet...maybe make enough for the whole team.

No Time!

Uggh! I have no time to stamp! This is my super busy time of year for work so I have not had any time to stamp. On top of that I am trying to get our house ready to officially list it before we leave for Puerto Rico on Feb. 1st. I really hope to get some stamping in soon. Maybe Wednesday but no sooner...tomorrow night I am going to see STOMP. Can't wait - I love it! Hope everyone likes the new SU catty! So many things I want for my Big Shot!

Buzzin' By

These cards are made with the new set Just Buzzin' By ($32.95 CAD). So cute! Colours are Summer Sun and Basic Black. The bottom is done with the scallop edge punch. Did you know we are getting an eyelet border punch? Woohoo! Less than a week til the new catalogue launches. The bottom card was made by my 6 year old daughter. She loves to stamp and scrapbook!

Sorry if you missed the pics but I said from the start this was for a limited time...don't want to get in trouble! :) I hope you all get your new catty very soon!

More Answers

Here are some more answers to new catty questions...

There is no silver or gold cord. Maybe next Holiday mini...

Classic pads are now $6.95 (up from $6.25) but craft are the same ($8.95)

Index tab colours are as follows:
Style Watch: no colour (same as Fall Winter)
Hostess: Chocolate Chip
Holidays: Bordering Blue
Occasions: Taken with Teal
Growing Up: Riding Hood Red
All Natural: Old Olive
Elements: Baja Breeze
Greetings: Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Rose Red
Index (at back) Perfect Plum

The Petal Card die is in there. All the dies are there plus LOTS of new stuff including textures!

Correction: Pretty Petals is in there but it's not new; it was on the dormant list. (Thanks Sandy!) So, no new backgrounds. :(

I don't mind answering questions so please feel free to ask! :)

Answers

I have received a few questions about the new catalogue that I will answer here:

No, there are no new cat sets.
The Big Shot is the same price and the starter kit is the same except that you get the Billboard strip (small letters) instead of Join in the Cheer (Peace & Joy & Love & Cheer)
Prices are the same except that sets that were previously not die cut now are die cut (yes, even "old" sets) are now a little bit more (eg. Lovely as a Tree was $30.95, now $32.95). Well worth the $2 in my mind!
Baby Scrappin kits are the same
There are 4 new DSP that are on textured cardstock and are $13.95 (pics below plus some other new cool textured paper that I also took a pic of)
The Bright Delights rub ons are the only "colour" ones. The others are all white and chocolate chip except A Perfect Day which are black and white.
There are now only 12 background stamps and only one is new...called Pretty Petals. Has small flowers and butterflies.

*I will be taking down my pictures tonight or tomorrow.*

Thanks to everyone for all their kind words regarding the posting of the pics. I feel a little guilty about doing it but at the same time I think it's only fair for all demos to see the new stamps and accessories at the same time. I wish SU would just post the catty on line when they starting mailing them to make it fair for everyone. Anyway, I have had an unreal number of visits over the last day. I hope that some of you continue to visit my blog on a regular basis. :)

If you have any other new catty questions please feel free to ask, but I will not be posting any more pics at this time.

Keeping Up

I am trying my best to keep up with daily postings. It's tough as this is my busy time of year with work. I hope to maybe stamp tonight so in the mean time I will share a card I made awhile back. This uses the Embrace Life set. Paper is basic black and taken with teal. Such a nice combination. The small flowers have some Crystal Effects on them. The other picture is of a cutlery holder I bought last week at IKEA. I thought it would be perfect for my daughter's ribbons. We need to get at least 1 more but she thinks it's great. Gotta love IKEA!

Thanks...I needed that!

So, I have been having one of those days when nothing seems to go right and everyone and everything is driving me nuts. I have so much work to do as I did not keep up with everything in December after my accident and then with Christmas...sigh! But then, while checking out my favorite blogs, as I do almost every day, I get the biggest compliment ever! My blog is now listed on someone else's favorite blogs! Now if that doesn't cheer a girl up, I don't know what would! It may sound a little silly but aren't we all looking for approval and for people to like what we do? Anyway, I am so excited to be listed on Alicia's blog (Happy Stampin'). She does awesome work (check out her blog!) and is an inspiration to me when I read about all she deals with on a daily basis having a young son with cancer.

Anyway, the card I have posted is one I made ages ago but I still really like it. I used the Pick a Petal set and stamped on DSP with black and then cut out the petals and made them into a flower. The middle is one of the flower punches (can't remember which 3-flower punch at the moment). Then I embossed Thank You in white. The colours look a little weird in the picture but you get the idea. I did this at a workshop and everyone loved it.

And thank you, Alicia, for making me smile! I needed that!

My Own Felt Flurry

I made my own felt flurry! Just used a piece of white felt in the Big Shot with the Snowflake die and WOW did it turn out great! I wanted it for the front of this DVD tin album that I made for my best friend for Christmas. The paper is from a pack I bought ages ago. I just love how this turned out. If you are thinking about getting the Big Shot but aren't sure...just buy it! It is the greatest. You won't regret it!

You're Grrreat!

How cute is this bear? He is from the set "Under the Stars". It's kind of a camping set but as with many sets we can turn them into multi-purpose stamps. The bear is stamped in Close to Cocoa on Very Vanilla and coloured with pastels. The sentiment is from 2 sets. The "you're" is from Very Punny and the "grrreat" is also from Under the Stars. I stamped them on Vanilla and used the small and large oval punches. The hearts are all from the new Heart punch from SU. I LOVE THAT THING! I have so many punches but as with most stamping and scrapping stuff, you can never have too many. I layered the hearts on the outside with Pretty in Pink on top and Close to Cocoa behind. Gives it a nice look I think. Hope you have a grrreat day!

Cupcake and Storage Ideas

Here is my first card made using the Simple Birthday Thanks that I showed you a couple days ago with the centre cut out. I stamped the top part of the image using Pixe Pink for the cupcake, Real Red for the Cherry and Bravo Burgundy for the stem. I coloured the inside with pastel and a sponge dauber. The sprinkles are chunky glitter and I also added a touch of dazzling diamonds to the cherry. For the bottom I stamped just the bottom of the cupcake, cut it out, flipped it over and ran it though the crimper. It is all attached to a whisper white card with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Crazy for Cupcakes. I also used the sponge dauber and pastel around the outside of the card to soften it. My 6 year old "pink freak" loves it! She was the first to use this stamp and can't get enough. She even made me a card (which is not unusual). She left it on my night stand on New Year's Eve. What a sweetie she can be! I will take a picture today and post it.

Hope your new year is off to a great start. I am off to IKEA today (woohoo!) to get a few things and check out storage and set up ideas for my new studio. I fcame across an awesome blog last night that show all sorts of organizational ideas for stamping and scrapbooking and some amazing craft spaces. Is is called Crafty Storage. Click here to check it out.
