More Swirls

I just love these swirls from the Priceless set. I did this card up tonight while chatting on the phone! Too easy! Punched the flower with the 1 1/4" circle and added a rhinestone brad. Colours are Basic Black, Whisper White and Tangerine Tango. I think I will do some more like this. I really like it! This would also be nice with the swirls embossed. May have to try that next.

Just Add Swirls

I posted this card a few days ago but without the swirls. I decided the card needed a little something extra so I added these swirls from the Priceless set. I love it now! We made this card at my club workshop today and even brand new stampers could do it no problem. Have you tried a Glitter Window card yet? If not, you should. Directions are in the resources section of Splitcoast Stampers.
I have nothing new to post today besides this. Life is just super busy right now between work, coaching, the new house and selling this one. We have had 3 showings in just over a week so I am hopeful that buyers are right around the corner!
Maybe I will take a trip downstairs tonight and do some stamping. I am too busy to see many movies (other than with the kids now & again) so the Oscars don't mean much to me. I will just watch entertainment shows tomorrow to check out the red carpet fashions! Have a great night.

Layout Case

I cased this layout from the Spring~Summer 2009 catalogue. It is on page 170 (Canadian) as part of the simply sent card kits. I just changed up the colours and the stamp set. The ribbon is a little different, too, as this was too wide to go vertical. Colours: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Rose Red. The right edge of the tangerine piece is worn and slightly curled up. I stamped the butterfly outline on Pacific Pt with the same colour ink (not Versamark). The butterfly is stamped in Tango with Rose Red outline but that is hard to see in the picture. It is subtle IRL (in real life) but the body is all T.Tango. I also scraped the top and bottom of the white layer with T.Tango. The colours are so pretty together and look much better IRL. Hope you had a good day today!

Brayer Fun

I saw a great post on Julie's blog (Paper Pleasing Ideas) on using a brayer to make a sunset-type background. I totally cased the first card. It is Pink Pirouette and Cameo Coral. The second one just uses the Cameo paper. The third card is my own design. We will be making the third one at my workshop next weekend. The technique is really easy. Choose a lighter and darker shade of the same colour. Ink half the brayer in the lighter colour and then the other half in the darker. You must do it in this order or you will get the darker ink on the lighter pad and that is bad! Brayer across glossy white cardstock. Keep going back and forth until you get the colour you want. The one I designed is Tangerine Tango with Apricot Appeal. Then use Stazon Ink to stamp the black image. Be careful though as it's a little slippery. My last one kind of smudged a little (on the right).

Glitter Window

I finally stamped again! (I am not counting the Valentine's I did for my son's class on Thursday night!). I have a workshop next Sunday and one of the techniques I am teaching is the glitter window. This is the first card I have made using that technique and I think it turned out ok. I used Spotlight on Christmas for the flower and I think it works. The circle is the 1 3/4" punch. The window is covered with dazzling diamonds. Much prettier IRL. Now I am off to plan the other 2 cards...

I'm Back!

Well, I am back from a relaxing vacation in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Nothing like spending a week on the beach! The weather was amazing and I loved reading in the sun every day. Missed my kids a lot, though! Just before we left my cheer team had their first competition and I am thrilled to say that they placed 2nd. They did a great job and looked so cute. They were so excited to get a trophy! (That is my daughter holding it!) For most it was their first competition experience in any sport so it was very special. While we were gone they did a lot of work on our new house. The siding is all done and the inside is drywalled!
