Chalkboard Technique

Can you believe this is the first time I have done the chalkboard technique?!  It's so easy but so pretty.  Using white craft ink stamp your image on black cardstock.  While the ink is still wet use a sponge dauber or Q-tip to add colour with the Stampin' pastels.  Once the ink is dry wipe off excess pastel (chalk) with a tissue or swiffer cloth.  And that's it!  This card is 5x5 and uses the Priceless set as well as the Whimsical Words from Sale-a-bration.  I used the pastel colours Taken with Teal, Lavender Lace and Pink Passion and the teal and lavender cardstock.

Brayer Fun

I saw a great post on Julie's blog (Paper Pleasing Ideas) on using a brayer to make a sunset-type background. I totally cased the first card. It is Pink Pirouette and Cameo Coral. The second one just uses the Cameo paper. The third card is my own design. We will be making the third one at my workshop next weekend. The technique is really easy. Choose a lighter and darker shade of the same colour. Ink half the brayer in the lighter colour and then the other half in the darker. You must do it in this order or you will get the darker ink on the lighter pad and that is bad! Brayer across glossy white cardstock. Keep going back and forth until you get the colour you want. The one I designed is Tangerine Tango with Apricot Appeal. Then use Stazon Ink to stamp the black image. Be careful though as it's a little slippery. My last one kind of smudged a little (on the right).

Glitter Window

I finally stamped again! (I am not counting the Valentine's I did for my son's class on Thursday night!). I have a workshop next Sunday and one of the techniques I am teaching is the glitter window. This is the first card I have made using that technique and I think it turned out ok. I used Spotlight on Christmas for the flower and I think it works. The circle is the 1 3/4" punch. The window is covered with dazzling diamonds. Much prettier IRL. Now I am off to plan the other 2 cards...
