Club Card #2

Look at me go...posting 2 days in a row! LOL! This is the other card we made at my club workshop yesterday. I like to use non-traditional

colours for many of my Christmas cards. This is Tempting Turquoise with Orchid Opulance. I also have a small snowflake punched out with the 1" circle and an orchid layer (1 1/4" circle) on the inside of the card. And I LOVE snowmen! They are so much fun to colour.

Club Card

This is one of the cards we made at my club workshop today. I got the idea from Ann at http://www.stampinchic.com/ . I used dimensionals to pop the top 2 layers of snow as well as the middle tree. The stamp set is Pattern Pines (hostess set) as well as the sentiment from Short & Sweet. Trees are in Real Red. It's hard to see but the background has a bit of blue pastel for the sky. The torn paper also has dazzling diamonds along the edge. Hopefully I will post again soon! It has been such a busy fall and then we took a holiday to Maui which was amazing!

Crimp It

I made the heart card this summer after seeing it on Jill's blog (see my list) and used it at a Stamp-a-Stack. So cute and simple. (And a single layer..woohoo for less cutting!) Then this week when I was trying to come up with some Christmas cards for a stamp-a-stack I thought I could just change it up a little and turn it into a Christmas design! Loved the results.

Love this punch!

I cased this card out of the Holiday Mini catalogue. White base with Bashful Blue layer that I ran through the BigShot using the polkadot texturz plate. Ornaments are stamped in Old Olive, Real Red and So Saffron. Ribbon is Old Olive. One ornament (green) is on dimensionals. I also added texture to the flap of the envelope so they totally coordinate!

Double Flap Card

These cards are fun and simple yet look like you spend a lot of time on them. Got the idea from Dawn @ Dawns Stamping Thoughts. Here is a link to her video tutorial.

Love the Sparkles

I have seen a couple cards similar to this and knew that I had to try it. Love the results! These were made using the sticky pages from SU and the new ornament punch. The punch was a little tough to get thru the pages at times but it wasn't too hard. The sentiments are embossed with silver.

Instructions:

Punch ornament out of sticky paper

Cut ribbon or cord for the ornament to "hang" on and a tie around piece if you want one.

Remove the white backing from the ornament (sticky) and place on cardstock with the string pieces underneath

Using a cutting blade and a ruler cut strips through the orange/red sticky layer

Peel one stripe off and cover with glitter. Repeat for each strip.

You could also make this ornament using sticky strip. Just punch an ornament out of white cardstock and cut strips of sticky strip for it, trimming right at the edge of the ornament. SU has a thin sticky strip but it is also available at craft stores in a wide width.

Long Time No Post!

I can't believe it's been 2 months since my last post! Wow. Time sure flies. Just after my last one we went on a holiday and when we got home it was time for the kids to start school and I was back working full time. Needless to say I have hardly done any stamping except for a couple of workshops I have hosted. This card is from one I did in September. It is pretty much a case from one of the examples in the Holiday mini. I LOVE the new ornament punch! The background is embossed using the bigshot. We also embossed the flap of the envelope to match!

Frosty

I got this card from a friend and thought it was post-worthy. Especially since I have not had much opportunity to stamp. I love this little snowman and 3 of him is even better! Thanks, Nicole! I did get some stamping done last night as I madly try to get teacher gifts done. My back has been very sore and I have not been able to do too much but I pushed thru last night and made a few things that I will try to post later today. My 6 year old is home sick AGAIN and we are heading back to the doctor at lunch to get her checked out.

Tin-o-Tags

I used this empty tin (from Epicure) and covered it with last year's awesome "Dashing" DSP from Stampin' Up! Inside I put a dozen handmade Christmas gift tags made using the tag set also from last year. I am not yet sure what I will do with this tin but it sure looks cute!

Weaving!

I had an idea tonight to weave some paper together and then run it through the Big Shot with the top note die. I used the Real Red from the prints pack and just chose 2 different patterns. I think it turned out great! I added the gingham ribbon which actaully runs around the whole front of the card. The snowflake is from the Felt Flurries in the Holiday Mini. They are so fun! And the brad is one of the rhinestone brads. Then to finish it off I scraped the edges with Glorious Green to add some interest and colour.

The other picture is of the "pretzel yummies" that I showed a few weeks ago using the hugs instead of kisses. This is what they should *really* look like. They are addictive so be careful. See my recipes for instructions on how to make this. But be SURE you keep the temp low (I use 200F...most things I cook at about 350) and keep checking them every minute or so after about 3 minutes as the chocolate will dry out quickly after it softens and then they will look cracked and awful!

Quick and Cute!

This may be the quickest card I have ever made. Saw it on Dawn's Stampin' Thoughts blog the other day. A few simple punches, a stamp, and a little colour and viola! A super cute Christmas card. A hint for the scallop edge...punch the 1 3/4" circle out of bashful blue and then line up the scallop punch around the circle. It will make it much easier than trying to punch a circle out of the scallop. To punch the circle out of the card I just moved the punch until it would not go any further and punched there.

Pretty Poinsettia

This was the 3rd card that we made at today's Christmas stamp-a-stack. My original was made using Riding Hood Red for the flowers but we made them with Ruby Red which is very close to the same. I like that it's simple but the 3-D poinsettia really adds something. The leaves are the punch cut up and then I layered a red flower on top of a red with a dimensional in between. The dots are More Mustard from the 1/8" punch. Tiny little guys but they went on well using the 2 way glue pen. The edges of the top note are coloured with pastels.

Final Stamp-a-Stack of '08

The reindeer card was inspired by a swap I received at the Edmonton regional event. I like it because it is simple and does not have a lot of colouring. I used Dazzling Diamonds on Rudolph's red nose. Colours: Very Vanilla base with a Riding Hood Red layer. The edges are scraped with Chocolate Chip. The snowman card is similar to one I made a week or so ago. I just changed up the snowflake and sentiment which is on dimensionals. The colours are bordering blue and Night of Navy with silver cardstock layer and silver ink for the snowflakes. We will make these at a stamp-a-stack I am holding on Nov. 30. Hard to believe that November is almost over! Where does the time go?

Still sick!

This bug has made itself right at home in our house...hence no posts for nearly a week...again. Sigh...one day I hope to get back to daily posts. Anyway, we have had some testing done but no results yet. And then Jenna woke up with strange rash today so back to the doctor we went. Doctor didn't really know what it was and said it was probably nothing to worry about. Just wait and see...I am tired of waiting! She has been sick for 2 1/2 weeks! Oh yah, and to top it all off I got an eye infection on Thursday so by Friday morning my eye was pretty much swollen shut. As a result I had to cancel a stamp-a-stack event for that night. Sigh again.

Anyway, my hubby and son went to a hockey game tonight so Jenna and I slipped downstairs to do a little stamping. I made 3 cards in about 45 minutes. They are all pretty simple. The Christmas tree one is cased from page 37 of the catty -just used different colours. The red one is cased from my friend Jodie; I just love the simplicity of it. And that ribbon is amazing. The third one is a Leanne original. Just playing around. I really like how it turned out. I hope to do more stamping and some scrapbooking tomorrow.

Lovin' Silver

Well, apparently the flu bug has not left our house. I was sick in bed from Sunday afternoon until this morning. I sure hope that is the end of it. I got downstairs today to do some stamping. My first order of business was to create a Christmas card for one of my customers. She asked me to create a card that she can "mass produce". I made 2 different samples using the Cool Dude set. These are the colours she requested and they are beautiful. I added the silver as I thought it went well. We'll see if she likes them. Then I wanted to play with my Felt Flurries so I made another card with the same colours using the medium size white snowflake, a rhinestone brad from the Ice collection and some silver elasticord. I love it! I based the card on one of the sketches I printed off the other day. I highly recommend looking for sketches to use; it makes things so much simpler! The picture does not do it justice. We will make this card at my club workshop next weekend.

Stampin' Again!

Feels so good to stamp again! I made these 3 cards this morning. They are based on a Taylored Expressions sketch challenge. I have been copying and pasting various sketches over the past few weeks. Today I finally printed them off. This one was at the top of the page so I thought I would start with it. I really need to use up some of my prints pack papers as I have tons of it so this was the perfect way to start. This is a great layout for any kind of card. We are going into the city right away to look at new appliances for the new house but when we get back it's back to stamping for me!

An Old Favorite

Since I have not had time to stamp I thought I should at least post something! I have been fighting a cold/flu for 2 weeks now. I am sick of being sick! Hopefully I am almost over it. Anyway, with not feeling well and being busy with work (although I really think it may slow down after this week!) I just haven't had time to stamp. However, I need to get Halloween treats done this week for the kids' classes so I will get something done.

This card is an old favorite. The snowflakes are embossed in white and the sentiment is embossed in sliver on a torn piece of vellum. This is the card that gave me the inspiration for my large snowflake card that I made this year using the snowflake #2 die for the Big Shot.

More From Regionals

Here are 2 more great cards I got at the regionals swap. The green and red one is from my downline (and friend!) Jodie. I love how she sort of curled up the edges of the green and kraft paper! I have had almost no "free time" this week to stamp. I did start a baby album for one of my best friends who had a little girl a couple weeks ago so hopefully I will be able to post that soon. TGIF tomorrow! I am teaching a course tomorrow night and then I hope to have some time to stamp this weekend between Parker's basketball game and Jenna's cheer practice. The girls get their uniforms on Saturday so I am excited for that. Hope you had a good week and I really hope to get back to some regular posting very soon!

Missing My Friends

I miss my Flaky Friends. Why oh why did I sell them? They were my faves and I sold them. How dumb was that? And SU did not "replace" them. This was one of my favorite cards I made with this set. The front layer of white was a torn piece added on and I used dazzling diamonds to make it look like sparkling snow. I also love the stamping off technique for the forest.

On another (and happier) note, our new house is progressing nicely. They finished the basement walls last week. I am so anxious for them to get it framed so I can walk through it. We have never walked through a house like ours (I chose the design from the internet and made some changes so it was just what I wanted) so I am so looking forward to getting a feel for the house.

Happy Turkey Day!

This is the invitation for my son's 9th birthday party. I literally whipped them up in about 10 minutes. We are going swimming so I thought the crab was appropriate. Colours are Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy, Vanilla, and Riding Hood Red for the crab.



We ended up doing this card at Friday's stamp-a-stack instead of the elf card. I was worried it would take too long. As it turns out the other ones took longer than I would have liked, too, but everyone seemed to like them so that is what's important. This card uses White with Pacific Point. The snowman tag is from Two Cool Dudes, the sentiment is from Many Merry Messages, and the snowflakes are from Wishing You Cheer.

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada so I am looking forward to eating a delicious turkey dinner at my parents' place. I am so fortunate to have such a great family! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
