Scrap-tacular Day!

It has been ages since I scrapbooked and I had forgotten how much I really love to do it! My best scrappin' friend Julie came over for our first session in my new studio and it was fantastic! I decided that I would work on the pictures I took at the New Kids on the Block concert last November. Yes, I was a teenager again for one night last fall and it was the most amazing night EVER! :) Anyway, I managed to get 6 pages done which I am super happy about. It only took me a few minutes to get back into the groove. The letters are chipboard covered in whisper white craft ink and embossed with iridescent ice. I used both my star punches and star die for the bigshot. Colours are Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Black. I am not a Kiwi Kiss fan but it matched the ticket so I used it and I love the results. I will show more pictures of my pages as the week goes on.

Sunny Scrapping

I did these 2 pages awhile back. I cased the first one from the SU catalogue. I love how it turned out. Pics are from our trip to Disneyland in the fall of 2007. Since I have no time to stamp or scrap I will just continue to share some of my older work. I don't see any time in the near future as I am super busy with work this week, then the cheer competition on Saturday and then my hubby and I are off to Puerto Rico on Sunday. Woohoo! Partly business for him, all pleasure for me!

Baby Album

I made this 5x5 chipboard album tonight. Phew! That was a lot of work- those things have a lot of pages - I have only shown a few here! But I am so happy with the results. I will be giving this to my best friend whose son, Easton, will be 1 this month. She just doesn't have time to scrapbook with 2 little ones so I wanted to make her something special to put Easton's baby pictures in. The album was made using the Special Delivery Boy simply scrappin' kit from Stampin' Up as well as paper from the prints pack. I only stamped once in the whole thing. Used a bunch of phrases on vellum from the dollar store and the rest is all SU (of course!) I will be seeing Nicole next week for lunch (it was supposed to be this past week but I had to cancel twice because of sick kids!) We don't get a chance to go out as often as we used to now that we both have 2 kids. I plan to do some more stamping and/or scrapping tomorrow! (Woohoo!)

I'm in Love!

I am so in love with this chipboard book! It was one of my purchases from PaperWorksCo and I finally got around to covering it yesterday. I used more of my paper from Costco. I have yet to put pics in it; I think I may wait and use it for our family pics this fall. While it was time consuming to cover it was so worth it. I can't wait to do more of these! They will make awesome gifts.

On another note, today is the first day of school here. Parker starts grade 4! I can hardly believe it! Jenna will start grade 1 tomorrow as only half go today, half tomorrow and then the whole class on Thursday. I know Parker will do great but I am nervous for my little Bear as she is such a mommy's girl and cried at playschool and kindergarten. However, I know she will get over it quickly and will love grade 1. And I will have the house all to myself...sigh...

Done...and in record time!

Well, it isn't fancy, but it's done. Took me about an hour to put this together last night. Not much for embellishments but I bet Great Grandma won't mind! As it turns out Colin won't leave until tomorrow but today is crazy with trying to get the kids and I ready for Vancouver tomorrow that I knew I better finish it last night. It's a clear envelope brag book. The instructions can be found at www.splitcoaststampers.com in the projects area. They are super simple and use the clear envelopes sold by Stampin' Up. I used 5 envelopes for this one so there was room for 10 pics. I won't include them all. Sorry that the quality of pics isn't great - again - not much time today!

We had planned to go to Vancouver as a family this weekend but with the passing of Colin's grandfather we had to rearrange things. So, my sister in law and nephew (who will be 2 in a couple weeks) will join us instead. Should be lots of fun (although we will miss Daddy!). We don't have any big plans, just a trip to Granville Island, the aquarium, and a visit with my cousin whom I haven't see in about 4 years. Not sure that I will be posting while I am away, and I don't have anything loaded to auto-post as of now. Maybe I will find some time later today to do that. If not, I will be back next Wednesday! Enjoy your weekend.

Busy, Busy!

Ack! Three days without a post. Things have been busy around here and I just have not had any opportunity to stamp. I will be doing some tomorrow, however! I have to get a small photo book done for my husband's grandmother. His grandfather passed away yesterday and he will be leaving for Montreal on Friday and I really want to send some pics of the "great grandkids" for her. Since I haven't had a chance to stamp I thought I would post an older project that is similar to the one I will work on tomorrow. This is a paperbag scrapbook that I made of my kids. These are such fun and simple scrapbooks.

On another note, I am so excited for my new stamping stuff to get here. I placed a rather large order from the new SU catty on Tuesday. Still lots I want to get but this will be a good start. I hope it arrives by the end of next week so I can use some of my new goodies at my stamp-a-stack on the 24th. I can't believe we are almost half way through August! Not long until the kids are back in school. I am starting to look forward to them going back. I have lots of work to do and just can't seem to get it all done with the kids around. It will be strange with no kids at home all week. Last year Jenna was home 2-3 days a week but now she is going into grade 1 so mommy will have lots of alone time. And quiet time...ahhh...the sound of silence!

Woohoo!

I got a new camera! Went to Costco today expecting it to be a zoo but it was totally dead. I guess with the Indy race, Capital Ex, and other events going on no one wants to shop. Anyway, I am so excited about my new camera! It's pink (Jenna helped me pick it out!) and has so many cool settings. The pic just above is a layout shot where I can take 3 pics and it puts them into one. There is another setting for a 2 pic layout. How cool is that? Plus cameras have come waaay down in price since the fall so I made a few other purchases that I consider *free*! Here are my latest layouts from the Jasper trip. I just love the pages of the kids' pics. Simply scrappin' kits are simply the best!

Well, as it turns out I did get the page done yesterday. After my last post I realized that Colin was asleep on the couch and the kids were watching a video so I decided to make the most of it and get it done. I am pleased with the results. I have only ever used chipboard once on a scrapbook page but I have lots of it so I decided to try it out. I used my brayer to colour the letters and used designer paper behind them as an accent. The colours are: Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise and Apricot Appeal. (Who ever would have thought that these 3 would look nice together?) I hope to get a couple more pages done for this album today between getting some ironing done and tidying up the house so it's ready for our real estate agent to check out tomorrow. We hope to have the house listed soon even though it will be a good 8 months before our new house is ready. Have a great day!
