In the spirit of trying to use up some of my many many accessories, I cased this card from the SU catalogue. Quick and simple but cute.
We got back a couple days ago from a trip to SanFrancisco. Quite an interesting place! We had a really nice time and had great weather. Now it's back to reality and back to school in only 3 more sleeps. Once school starts I will have a much more regular schedule at the gym which will be great...to many 12+ hour days there this summer! And I hope to get back up to my studio a little more often.

I Scream, You Scream!
This is such a fun stamp set! I used the masking technique to put the bottom scoop on - stamped the top one first, then placed the mask over top and stamped the bottom. I really like how the top one turned out and I love the colours. Not my usual colours - Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie but they look great with the Chocolate Chip!
The title of this post reminded me of a funny cartoon I saw several years ago. Instead of an ice cream truck there was a pic of an asparagus truck with the phrase: I cuss, you cuss, we all cuss for asparagus! The caption: Failed marketing ploys. Makes me giggle every time I think of asparagus!

And I am happy to report that Xedo had a great night last night so we are feeling much more rested. We had a blast with him yesterday. Jenna decided she would hit some golf balls in the backyard last night and it turned out to be the best game ever. She hits the ball and Xedo brings it back. He was so excited. I think it also helped to tire him out!

Time for a Drink
After last night I could use a drink...but preferably coffee. Xedo was a really good boy but was out of sorts. He would lay down and then be up 10 minutes later looking for a new spot. He's a big guy and is not very graceful when it comes to laying down (thunk!). So far today he's been great and just adores the kids.
"Olive" this martini stamp and think it looks super with this DSP. I ordered the Cottage Wall DSP last week and am looking forward to its arrival. In the mean time I need to continue to use up my old stuff. If you have any great ideas on how to use up LOTS of DSP let me know! Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Summer Drink
Mmmmm...the perfect summer drink. I am trying desperately to use up some of my DSP. I've made a whole pile of cards using this type of layout. It's pretty simple but I think looks great. The card base is Rose Red and the DSP is retired. Ribbon is Rose Red 1" double-stitched grosgrain. Stamp set is Cheers to You. Edges are roughed with the cutter kit and done up with dazzling diamonds. If you don't have the cutter kit from SU you really should get it.

Beary Cute
I just love this Bear from Under the Stars. I made these 2 cards while trying to come up with a Stamp-a-Stack card. Neither one is quite right but I am getting there. I have a hard time coming up with SAS cards as I can't quite keep them simple enough. Both have elements from cards I saw on Splitcoaststampers. The top one uses one of the texturz plates from SU and the cutter kit to rough the edges. I love that thing! The second one uses the Sanded background stamp and the letter and number are from Simple Serif Mini Alphabet & Numbers which is apparently now retired since I could not find it in my current catalogue. Bummer. Anyway, Both cards use Very Vanilla and Close to Cocoa. The top one uses a small piece of Creamy Caramel for the oval layer and the bottom one uses Really Rust. Both bears are colored with pastels. I like these because they work for anyone...kids, guys, and ladies, too!

First Projects
Woohoo! I stamped in my new studio. I should have taken some pics before I started to make a mess! It still needs a little work but it's functional. I will take some pics soon.
I made a birthday card for my sister in law using this super cute owl set. I used my Big Shot to make the textured background. I just folded the card around the plate so only the top half got textured. The very top didn't really get done but the ribbon hides that! The branch was stamped and cut out as well as the leaves, owl and hat. The owl and hat are on dimensionals. Colours are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red. Turned out pretty cute. The little boxes were also made using the Big Shot and are just little treats for the kids to take to their teachers tomorrow. I have not done many treats for them throughout the year as I have been so busy so I thought I would start sending a few during these last days of school. Now I need to figure out what to do for the end of the year gifts.

Jenna's 7th
I made this card for my daughter who turns 7 on Friday. I can hardly believe she is 7! Anyway, she loved the colours we chose for her invitations so I decided to make her card using the same colours. I also used my new cupcake dies for the Big Shot! So much fun. And the polka dot texturz again. I also crimped the base of the cupcake. The ribbon in stamped on with black StazOn (wish I had brown) but it still looks good. The hearts are from the SU 3 heart punch. Added dazzling diamonds to the flames and a little spot on each heart.

Buzzin' By
These cards are made with the new set Just Buzzin' By ($32.95 CAD). So cute! Colours are Summer Sun and Basic Black. The bottom is done with the scallop edge punch. Did you know we are getting an eyelet border punch? Woohoo! Less than a week til the new catalogue launches. The bottom card was made by my 6 year old daughter. She loves to stamp and scrapbook!

Let the Games Begin!
I am so excited that the Olympics have started! I love the summer Olympics. I am most looking forward to the gymnastics as that has always been a favorite but I also had the chance to meet Kyle Shewfelt on a few occasions and even had him to speak at a conference I organized. I have been in touch with him on and off the last couple of years. He is an amazing person and I have my fingers and toes crossed for him. He has an awesome blog www.kyleshewfelt.blogspot.com . You should check it out. GO CANADA!
Loving the Layouts!
Still no new catties. Just going to go to the mailbox and see if my magic slip is here. Luckily one of my downlines (and new best friend, Amy) got hers and was kind enough to lend one to me and another one of my downlines until we get ours. The new catalogue is beautiful and has some really cute new stamps and some great new accessories. I just hope mine get here in time for my open house on Monday! 6:30-9pm at my house...come on by!

OCC Challenge Card #3
On another note I got a notice that my new Stampin' Up catalogues are on their way! Woohoo! Says they will be here Thursday but I am expecting them sooner. Why would it take them 4 days to get here from Calgary? It's only a 3 1/2 hour drive!
